It took more than 3 years ,but we won .......

I am pleased to announce a massive victory for the NCA, our community and constitutional rights. Elias Rashmawi , the Chairperson of the National Council of Arab Americans said today.

This was not easy by any means. Yet, and despite claims by cynics that it can't be done, we have indeed challenged the abrogation of our rights by one of the most powerful municipalities in the world (City of New York) and won big! This was a hard-won constitutional fight that has lasted over 3 years.

In addition to striking down key provisions of controversial and unconstitutional regulations aimed at restricting access to the Great Lawn of Central Park and uncovering through discovery massive amounts of important documents, the City will also pay damages to NCA and ANSWER and will pay all incurred attorneys fees and court costs for the duration.

Congratulations to all.
