In a phone conversation on Thursday with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Abbas discussed developments in the peace process and the ongoing zionist settlement expansion.
Abbas demanded (according to a press release from his office ) that Rice work to end zionist settlement activities, including ‘natural growth,’ and to implement the Road Map.
He confirmed the Palestinian side’s commitment to the relevant international legal decisions, the Road Map plan and US President George W. Bush’s vision for a Palestinian state, as well as the Arab peace initiative.
