The PLO not Invited ????

It’s not surprising that Professor Francis Boyle ,a friend of the Palestinian people ,would notice that the PLO ,”the sole” representative of the Palestinian people , was not on the invited list to the Annapolis Conference ,that will be held next week for the purpose of solving the Palestinian issue ,according to the host of the meeting George W. Bush.

What is surprising is that the factions of the PLO did not notice that.

It is obvious that member groups of the PLO are at peace with the fact of the PLO as we knew it is past dead. It is also clear that these factions ,and especially the “Left “ oriented ones are at sad stage of their existence , that a mere “word “ challenge to this blatant attack on something they have been fighting to “rebuild” for years came and gone without even being noticed by these groups. So the question that has to be asked is, why?
It’s not enough to say that these groups are bankrupt on all levels, even though this is true. It’s also not accepted to buy the claim, that “they” are working day and night to reunite the Palestinian people especially in Gaza ,(the Palestinian people are everywhere and almost 10 million ) so they have no time for something else, be it as important as the representation of the Palestinian people.
I believe that the reason is that these groups are OK with the fact that the PLO is dead ,or terminally sick and can not be revived. Their continued holding to the name of the PLO had got them nowhere, since they showed complete impotent, and for years, to the demolition acts that Arafat and later Abbas carried out, under the complete ignorance of these groups.
What is so alarming now ,is that these very “Left” groups are acting like a Mokhtars ,i.e. a village heads ,were their main actions is trying to solve family feuds .
This is a smart tactics on their behalf, because the Mokhtar is also always in tune with the power broker in the village, and in our case, its Abbas and company who control the money and the prestige. And that’s why you see their lackeys, pretty much everywhere, are going into pacts with Abbas and company supporters, so in case some realignment of power takes place they will be there. And that’s also why; you would not see any criticism mentioned of Abbas and company in any Bayan issued by these pacts. It’s noticeable that ex Fateh supporters and ex Left supporters are ones doing the criticizing and not the “Left”. How sad.

Where will this situation take us as Palestinians?

With all of our understanding of what losing a PLO means, it’s a duty on all of us ,to start a fresh ,going back to the ABC’s of our struggle that will acknowledge that Palestine is a Part and Parcel of the Arab world (and we should bring it back to this status) ,and that Palestine is ours from the river to the sea (regardless of the balance of power) ,and that All Palestinians have a non negotiable right of going back to their homes ( and Abed Rabbo and others do not speak for us on this issue or others) .

One silver lining from not inviting the dead PLO to Annapolis, is perhaps will come out of it as results and discussions (even though there will be nothing) that concern Palestine will be not valid since all the Arab puppets that are going to Annapolis to finaly and formally normalize relations with the racist Zionists, are the same ones that declared the PLO to be the sole representative of the Palestinian people.
